Deb & Peter’s Handfasting Ceremony

Gift giving

We’ve had a few people ask us about what we want as gifts.

This is just a reminder that Steph has a list of suggestions, and she is willing, and able (and ready) for your call.

The details are on the wish-list page as well as on the invitation you received, but here’s her number: 0411830920. I don’t think she has voicemail, but you can leave your number so she can call you back.

See you on the day….

Yes, that time is fast approaching….

There is only 19 days to go before the RSVP date…. so all you slackers out there, get on that phone/keyboard/etc!

Not that you won’t be allowed in if you don’t respond - but its kinda nice to know exactly how many people we need to cook for. Yes, that’s right, we’re catering ourselves! With a little help of the team at Aroma Bar Restaurant… ;)

Also, we moved into the house last week (finally). There are still a few things undone, but they’ll get done over the next couple of weeks. All of our stuff isn’t in yet. And Jess will be moving in by the end of the month. So come June, we might actually be settled. Yay!

Anyway, thats all the news we have for you. We’re moving some more stuff in this weekend, and the animals will be arriving (cavies and dog). Still need to put a fence up. We’re also looking for a ‘handyman’ to do several odd jobs. If anyone knows someone with tools and know-how, can you let us know please?!?!!

See you on the day!

Pete and Deb :)

More on the house

Look above at the image header…

See all those trees? Most of them are gone now. Patty and his boys came around today and performed what the describe as a “total vegetation removal”.

Sounds radical and drastic, I know. And it wasn’t a “total” removal. We left some strategic trees that act as protection and shade, and a couple of the big trees along that back fence line to act as the ‘Black Tortoise’ (a feng shui principle, the protection needed at the back of a property).

The plumber was around also fixing toilet and kitchen-related stuff.

Everything is coming together. We just need a handyman for some minor work, the sparky to come and finish off some of the power requirements, and then our furniture to move in.

Everything is coming together nicely….

Oh, and the trees were sick and diseased, so thats why they had to go. So please, no blockades by fellow forest warriors. You’ll be happy to know that they have all been mulched and placed down on the ground where the organic permaculture gardens will be established (hopefully by the Handfasting…).

:)

See you on the day!

Pete and Deb

PS: the shed and the Hills Hoist are still there…. :)

Floored

The floors in the house have just been done, and they look fabtastic!

As soon as Deb gets some shots of it, I’ll post them up (before and after). They look stunning.  Its changed the whole vibe of the space.

We used Bio’s Teak oil. Its smells wonderful. All natural oils (no chemicals), and will protect the original boards well, and can be re-coated and added to without spoiling the ‘look’.

This was all courtesy of our mate Andy from Happy Floor Service. He’s honest, reliable, and does good work for a great price. I strongly recommend you get him and his Happy team if you need any floor-work done. Drop him an email at:

andybwkoh @ hotmail. com (remove the spaces, this is the anti-spam text version).

And in keeping with the whole eco-principle, he’s local! Admittedly, Bio is a Sth Australian  product, but at least its Green!

Site update

You may have noticed that the header for this blogsite has changed.

This is a picture of our backyard, where the feasting will take place. Chances areit will look a lot different on the day, and it certainly looks a lot smaller than what it is in reality! The Hills Hoist may not be there on the day either (unless it fits under the marquee). But I thought it was a nice touch, especially next to the steel shed!

The physical site is also undergoing its facelift. The house was restumped last week, and further works are beginning to go ahead. Unfortunately, all those wonderful trees may be gone by the time the handfasting comes about - we’ll see….

The House renovations won’t be fully complete by the end of June, but it will still be a functioning home. A little rough around the edges, but hey! so are we!! :) LOL
