Gift wish-list
What you choose to give to us is not as important to us as to how you go about it. Our main wish is that you follow some simple eco-friendly principles when going about organising your gift.
- Please spend within your financial means. A gift should come from the Heart.
- Support your local economy and the environment. Small businesses, craftspeople and artisans produce wonderful products and supporting them helps keep financial resources in your local community and helps sustain local business and employment.
- What’s it made of? Be aware of the materials which your gift is made from; consider what impact your gift may have upon limited natural resources. Products made from natural materials are also aesthetically better than those made from plastics.
- Wrapping paper is a waste of resources. Consider re-usable wrapping such as gift-bags or boxes. If you feel you must use wrapping paper, then use something like newspaper, which is great for mulching or compost or source a recycled range.
- Cards too just end up in the recycling — consider making something yourself; again think about the impact of the materials you use.
- We would truly treasure home-made gifts from the more creatively-inspired among you.
Please consider that we are trying to create an environmentally low-impact, sustainable household, so we are ‘wishing’ for gifts that will reflect this ethos and help us with this project.
Steph is coordinating all this for us, so feel free to contact her to organise your gift. Her contact details are on the invitation you would have received. If you can’t get in touch with her, let us know and we’ll sort it out.
See you on the day…!
Pete & Deb
